Rosslare Boxing Club

Established in 2014, Rosslare Boxing Club has created a strong foothold within the community, bringing the youth together through the sport of boxing. As a sport which was new to the area when introduced, we have managed an annual membership of between forty and fifty members each year, catering for boys and girls from nine years old upwards. From humble beginnings, we now boast a top quality training facility in Rosslare Strand which provides for the needs of every aspiring boxer. Every level of ability is catered for in our closely-knit, family-like club where equality and fairness is paramount.

Training sessions are run in high spirits while always maintaining an implacable level of discipline, of which the sport of boxing prides itself. We strive to achieve maximum ability from each boxer and nurture their experience of this great sport.

Our impact within the competitive ranks is gaining momentum with increasing success in Championships and tournaments, both locally and Nationally. 2019 produced our first All-Ireland Champion and we strive from here on to continue this success. From competitors at Provincial and National level, to taking part locally in club shows, we endeavor always to fulfill the ambitions of each individual boy or girl who walks through our doors and trains with commitment.

The sport of boxing will enhance the life skills of anyone who chooses to participate. It is a sport of equality and inclusiveness for everyone, regardless of social or cultural demographic. Rosslare Boxing Club commit to the success of our members through physical and mental preparation.

Our doors are open.

Our Vision

“To provide a quality community/amateur boxing club based in Rosslare, offers opportunities for all children, youths and young adults in our community to grow in self-confidence, enable empowerment and promotes the welfare of all in an inclusive manner, with the aim to support each member to achieve their full potential.

Mindfulness

Sport psychology can be described as a mental practice. It is a fundamental part of any elite athlete’s training. Physical training, mental focus and clarity is significant in reaching ones full potential.

Some mental exercises we work on in the club is to develop Self Awareness. We also use Visualisation and Goal Setting techniques. Science has proven that achieving self aware and clarity will not only improve your athletic performance but can be used in everyday life when faced with stress and other life’s challenges.
